The 350th Anniversary Appeal – Velo Club Challenge

The Distillers Velo Club Back In The Saddle For Worshipful Company’s 350th Anniversary Charity Appeal
A 350Km riding challenge from the City of London to Schiedam, Netherlands

The Challenge

The Distillers Velo Club will ride 350km over 3 days from the City of London to Schiedam, Netherlands to raise a significant sum of money through a sponsored cycle ride, contributing to the Worshipful Company of Distillers 350th Anniversary Charity Appeal, led by the Master, Chris Porter.

The principal charity for the ride is The Lord Mayor’s Appeal for Future Youth Zone in Barking & Dagenham, a purpose-built facility well known by Distillers’ Charity for improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in that area. Future Youth Zone will receive 50% of all funds raised and the riders have also nominated a personal charity, which will receive the balance of funds donated. These charities include, The Atholl Centre Foodbank, The Childhood Trust, City of London Sinfonia, Clan Cancer Support, Food for All, Girlguiding Perth & Kinross, London Air Ambulance, Maggie’s Cancer Care, and Samaritans. 100% of the monies raised will go to supporting charity.

The 10 riders, led by Past Master Kenny MacKay, will leave Mansion House home of The Lord Mayor of the City of London Vincent Keaveney, himself a Distiller Liveryman, early on 29th September. The final destination on October 1st is Schiedam, in the Netherlands, where the Distillers’ Velo Club riders will be met by fellow Liveryman Willeke Vester representing the “Knights of The Golden Glass” and the Dutch Genever industry.

Please give generously to the Distiller’s Velo Club Schiedam 350th ride supporting these good causes.
