    Cookie policy and management

    Version 1.1Effective 5 September 2026

    Introduction

    This cookie policy applies to visitors to this website. The site uses cookies and other related technologies (for convenience, all of these are referred to as “cookies”). Cookies may also be placed by third parties we have engaged. This page explains how cookies are used here.

    What are cookies?

    A cookie is a small file that is sent with pages of this website and stored by your browser on your computer or another device. The information stored in it may be returned to our servers, or to the servers of the relevant third parties, during a later visit.

    Scripts and web beacons

    A script is a piece of program code used to make the website function properly and interactively. It may run on our server or on your device.

    A web beacon (or pixel tag) is a small, invisible piece of text or image used to monitor traffic on a website. We do not currently use advertising pixels on this site.

    Cookies we use

    Strictly necessary cookies

    Some cookies are needed for the website to work properly, for example to keep a form usable while you browse or to remember a choice you have just made. We may place strictly necessary cookies without consent.

    Website forms use a hidden honeypot field to discourage automated submissions. That field is not a cookie.

    Form security (Cloudflare Turnstile)

    On pages with contact, membership, mentoring, newsletter, club or committee enquiry, or conduct concern forms, we load Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish people from automated bots.

    Turnstile runs a challenge in your browser and provides a one-time token that we verify on our servers before accepting the submission. We do not enable Cloudflare’s optional clearance cookie (cf_clearance) on this site.

    Turnstile may process technical signals such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, and page context. We treat this as strictly necessary security for form submission. It is not an analytics or advertising tool, and you cannot switch it off without also losing the ability to submit those forms.

    Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy information is in its Turnstile privacy addendum.

    Statistics cookies

    Statistics cookies help us understand how the website is used so that we can improve it. We ask for permission before placing statistics cookies.

    We do not currently set analytics or statistics cookies on this website. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

    Marketing cookies

    Marketing or tracking cookies are used to create profiles, display advertising, or follow a visitor across websites. We do not currently use marketing cookies on this website.

    Embedded video on this site is hosted by us and does not load third-party video cookies such as YouTube.

    Where we use non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent before placing them. You can withdraw that consent at any time by changing your browser settings or, if we introduce a consent tool, by using the controls described on this page.

    Strictly necessary cookies and form security (including Turnstile) are not offered as an optional preference, because forms cannot be protected without them.

    Managing and deleting cookies

    You can use your browser to delete cookies automatically or manually, to block certain cookies, or to show a message each time a cookie is placed. See the Help section of your browser for instructions.

    Please note that the website may not work properly if all cookies are disabled. If you delete cookies and later give consent again, they may be placed once more.

    Your rights

    You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

    • the right to know why your personal data is needed, what will happen to it, and how long it will be retained;
    • the right of access to the personal data we hold;
    • the right to have personal data corrected, completed, deleted or restricted;
    • the right to withdraw consent, where we rely on it, and to ask for data to be deleted;
    • the right to receive your data and transfer it to another controller; and
    • the right to object to processing, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue.

    To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, we would like to hear from you. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at www.ico.org.uk.

    Our privacy notice explains more about how we use personal information.
