Ways to take part
Fellowship and professional connection
Meet people from across the spirits industry and the professions that support it. Company life brings together people who might not otherwise meet, and often leads to new ideas, trusted relationships and lasting friendships.
Knowledge and industry perspective
Members can hear from specialists and leaders across the trade, consider emerging issues and share experience across disciplines. The programme encourages informed discussion of the craft, science and culture of distilled spirits.
A meaningful way to give back
Membership includes practical ways to support the Company’s charitable and educational purpose. Members may contribute through giving, fundraising, volunteering, mentoring, committee service or professional expertise.
The City and the wider livery
As members progress through the established route to the Livery, they gain a closer connection with the traditions and civic life of the City of London. They may also meet members of other livery companies through joint events, competitions, charitable initiatives and professional programmes.
Clubs and shared interests
The Company’s clubs and groups are relaxed ways to spend time with fellow members beyond the main calendar. Current groups cover golf, motoring, shooting, cycling and sailing, with activities from sociable days out to inter-livery events and charitable challenges.
Online briefings make the Company and the livery movement easier to understand before joining. Once admitted, newer members can also take part in more informal events designed to help them meet others, build confidence and find the aspects of Company life that interest them most.
Overseas membership, coming soon
The Distillers’ Company is developing a new overseas membership option for people who live outside the UK and want a closer connection with the Company and its international spirits community.
The offer is being designed to make participation more practical across different countries and time zones, while retaining the fellowship, knowledge-sharing and sense of purpose of the Company.
Full details, including eligibility, benefits, costs and the route to membership, will be published before applications open. You can register your interest now to receive an update when the overseas option launches.
Membership is a shared commitment to take part, welcome others and help the Company deliver its purpose. The more members contribute, the stronger and more rewarding the community becomes.
